I agree with everyone.  Dont waste money on trying to upgrade your NA or do a TT conversion.  One, lots of time and money, two no traction(ask ivan), three JDM engines are beat on to the highest degree, dont trust em.  Save the $3500 and sell yours and get a nice vr4.  you can always do a front end conversion if you dont like the 1g later down the road.

But yes, shop around and look for one that was taken care of and mostly stock.  those are usually the most reliable.  And if they said they rebuilt the motor or tranny(RECEIPTS!!)

Just sell ur car (if its not your only driving option), and look for a vr4.  There are alot of nice ones out there.  even if you have to fly out there and then drive her back.  Just ensure to have all your ducks in a row and do ur homework before u make any rash decisions.

Definitely do your homework! I didn't I just wanted a VR4 and when I THOUGHT I came across a good deal I jumped. It has bitten me in the ass lol, but I love my car so I have stuck with her. Even if she likes to take all my money and not ever run just quite right lol.

FWD N/A FTW! i drive my car EVERYDAY. i may have my car down for 2-3 days but its always up and running. i've put 30,000 miles on my car since i got it and the only massive issue was the Trans which was trashed when it was in the trunk. my plan is to keep the n/a and eventually get a vr4. i like daily driving my GT. a vr4 isnt going to happen.

So is the TT fwd your highway car? id imagine off the line it would have no traction, but from a 35 roll? I don't want ten pounds per turbo more like 4 or 5.
I'm not looking for huge 500, but 300 would be great!!

people exaggerate about the traction. i grab traction at 15mph roll but thats because i dont have straight pipping. most owners that go tt instantly buy straight pipe for their conversions. if i had to do it all over again i would have bought a vr4 before i got my fwd. i didnt know their was a vr4 model when i first laid eyes on the SL. i wanted it that instant cause it was so gorgeous. I say have ur fwd as a DD and buy the vr4 as a project car.

Did you use all of these parts?  Parts list –

-Turbos from a VR4, either the TD04 9b’s or TD04 13G’s with waste gate actuators
-Both inter cooler and all piping associated
-Exhaust manifolds and the manifold gaskets from a VR4
-o2 housings and precats from a VR4
-Oil housing from a VR4
-Oil feed and return lines for the turbos, and all the eye bolts and gaskets
-“Joint” on the back of the engine block for the rear oil feed line
-Modified non-turbo oil pan to accept oil return lines
-Water housing from a VR4
-Water feed and return lines for the turbos and all the eye bolts, washers, and gaskets
-VR4 down pipe
-360cc injectors
-VR4 fuel pump (or Walbro 255ltr/hr)
-Injector resistor pack
-Front motor mount bracket
-Oil cooler with lines

electronics needed:

-S-AFC or S-AFR
-Boost gauge
-Air/Fuel ratio gauge
-Exhaust Gas Temperature gauge (two is best, one for front bank and
one for rear bank)
-Pocket logger – useful for monitoring everything, especially knock

So what psi are you running at? How many miles did your motor have at time of conversion? Did you just use the 94-96 TT ecu and mod the harness? Is the water injection necessary at 5psi?
